HYROX / Functional Fitness / ATHX
I'm Anders Berendt — 39 years old, born and based in Copenhagen, raised on hip-hop and cycling. I competed as an elite cyclist from age 7 through my early twenties — 5× Danish National Champion in the junior categories, ranked 8th in the world in 2004, and finished 7th at the UCI Junior World Championships in Verona that same year in the individual time trial.
My strength was always the max effort over 5–10 minutes — prologue-style, no mercy. Turns out that translates pretty well to pushing a sled until your legs forget what legs are.
Since discovering HYROX I've raced 11 times across 7 cities — Copenhagen, Hamburg, Berlin, Paris, Stockholm, Verona, Stuttgart and Frankfurt. My strengths are Burpee Broad Jumps (PB 2:10) and high-output sustained efforts. My nemesis: Wall Balls.
In 2026 I'm chasing three races: Royal Copenhagen Half Marathon in April, Functional Fitness Racing Copenhagen in May, and the main target — ATHX Games Copenhagen in autumn. This site is the honest account of getting there. The data, the sessions, the setbacks.
